After going through menopause, I found that I had gained a lot of weight over the past two years, and in places I had never had an issue with before. I have always had a slow metabolism but have remained relatively active (walking and aerobics) and could usually take off pounds if I concentrated on it for a short period of time. I have also followed a healthy diet for the most part. To that end, I have recently tried many different ways to lose the weight and was unsuccessful.
I read the literature on the SHAPE website several times and knew it was something I felt comfortable trying and thought I could succeed at. I had a few friends who had success with HCG drops, but I didn’t like the idea. I have always used homeopathic options when available for health issues and the fact that the SHAPE Drops are homeopathic made me feel like this was a much safer option.
I began the program on January 4, 2015 and wanted to lose 25 pounds. In the beginning, I lost seven pounds. At first, I did have cravings, but after the first few days, those were gone. I can’t say that I ever felt hungry or deprived. Immediately, I also noticed that overall, I felt better and slept better.
I adhered to the program strictly for a couple more weeks and lost 14 pounds, which for me was amazing. I have had a couple of plateaus, but with the urinalysis, we made adjustments and I was back on track. I did take a short vacation, continued the drops, and ate pretty much what I wanted. I gained 2 pounds but lost those right away. I have also realized the number on the scale is not necessarily the most important thing. My clothes fit and look so much better. I am wearing pants and skirts that I haven’t worn for two years, and those are quickly becoming too big. I had been wearing L and XL shirts and now am now comfortable in most mediums. Last weekend I bought a pair of size 8 skinny jeans!
I have lost 17 lbs. with 8 more to go.
In following the SHAPE Program, I have learned to try many new things. I have always eaten a variety of foods but am now cooking those foods in different ways, as well as using a wider variety of spices. I love the Bragg Liquid Aminos and nutritional yeast as substitutes for the unhealthy choices I used to make. It truly is a lifestyle change and one that I plan to make permanently.
