The SHAPE Program works very well for diabetics. So well, in fact, that the disease may be put into remission (you can’t say “cured”), and the patient will no longer require diabetic medicine, including insulin. Because of this, it is prudent to have the diabetic patient give their allopathic doctor notice they are starting a nutrition program and to please be available to monitor their blood sugar/Hbg A1c so drug dosages can be adjusted as needed. The change in blood sugar can occur very quickly, so be sure to have the patient do daily blood sugar tests (fasting AM; PM may also be necessary) to monitor changes.
Examples of change:
Patient is Wanda C. Drugs she was on were insulin and Metformin.
- Prior to SHAPE Program:
- Fasting blood sugar – 202
- HA1c – 9.7
- After SHAPE Program:
- Fasting blood sugar, morning – 72; evening – 92 (achieved in 14 days)
- HA1c – 5.5 (achieved in 91 days)
- She is off of all blood sugar medication.
Patient is Shirley B. Drug she was on was the insulin pump (total removal of pancreas).
- Prior to SHAPE Program:
- Fasting blood sugar – 196
- HA1c – 7.0. (Her pump dosage is adjusted weekly.)
- After SHAPE Program:
- Fasting blood sugar, morning – 54; evening – 113 (achieved in only 4 days)
- HA1c – 6.8 (achieved in 109 days)
