Cracker Mania

While we allow a “maximum” of 16 crackers per day, that does not mean everyone can or should eat that amount per day. In the past, only 8 crackers were allowed. Admittedly, most were eating more and not only confessing but feeling guilt and shame for “cheating.” This became a “learning curve” for SHAPE Central. Most…not all, did just fine eating up to 16 crackers. Some practitioners do not allow 16 crackers or any crackers…based on your health profile. To help remove the “guilt and shame complex,” we increased the cracker allowance but please…if you know you have a sensitivity to this type of carbohydrate, do not eat the crackers. CRACKERS DO NOT FALL IN THE CATEGORY OF “MUST EAT” to follow the baseline protocol in the guidebook. Eating crackers is a choice or option should you desire.

 

This list is not comprehensive, so when shopping, check labels for similar ingredients. The main ingredient to avoid is sugar, which can be listed under a variety of names: cane sugar, evaporated cane juice, turbinado, Sugar in the Raw, agave syrup, coconut sugar, palm sugar, molasses, maple syrup, honey, honey crystals, raisin juice concentrate, beet sugar, dextrose, fructose, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, maltodextrin, erythritol, sorbitol, maltitol, etc.

 

There are so many brands that offer Grissini and Melba Toasts and most people are going gluten free, so only the gluten free varieties are included in this list.
