Ingredients
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey or chicken or beef
  • ½ cup oatmeal (for Phase 1 - I used 24 almond nut-thins, finely crushed to equal ½ cup)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Himalayan or Celtic sea salt
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder (or garlic salt if you like a salty meat, or 50/50 of each)
  • 1 ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • ⅛ tsp allspice
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix/knead the mixture with your hands so everything is well combined.
  3. Dump mixture onto a lightly oiled cookie sheet.
  4. Work it into a square (6 to 8 inches across that will be easy to slice) that’s about 1” high.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes.
  6. Insert meat thermometer when done to be sure internal temperature is at least 170 degrees.
  7. Let cool and slice into thin strips with sharp knife.
  8. Can be rewarmed in a pan on the stove, or eaten cold.
